Thanks to this, fineness of grind reading is much easier and more precise between different operators. Dilution meets the basic assumptions of the method of determining the degree of grinding using a grindometer - free movement of particles in the path of the device, as well as free falling of particles to the bottom. This is a necessary procedure for most (if not all) types of paint samples. ISO 1524 does not indicate, like ASTM D1210, that a paint sample should practically always be diluted and mixed well before testing. Of course, in the case of this test, the issue of experience, but also indications in the norm are of great importance. However, many times I have encountered among my clients the problem of correct reading of the rub between laboratory employees. The method of determining the degree of grinding known from ISO 1524 is commonly used to assess the degree of dispersion of pigments and fillers.
